It's like reading noodles!
สวัสดีค่ะ ยินดีที่ได้พบคุณ Could you please repeat that? Well, then maybe you could just read it to me? Oh, you can't make out the sounds because there are no letters to pronounce... What was that?... It's like reading noodles? Well, keep practicing!
Thai script is beautiful and loopy and has a melodious "sing-song" sound to it, all of which is totally foreign to me! This is their heart language. Luckily, what I lack in natural ability I hope to make up for in sheer determination and tons of prayer. This is my goal, learn the language well enough to communicate effectively with the people. This will not be an easy task, but I just keep telling myself if millions of little Thai children can do it, so can I. So for now, ฉันก็เช่นกันค่ะ

I am still struggling to remember these "little-snake" alphabets + their tone marks... SUCH a BIG struggle!!!
I am writing prayers for our church's missionaries (Lutheran church) in Thailand, and come across to your blog!
They have just arrived for 1-2 months and are struggling to learn Thai in Bangkok. They are still trying hard to find an apartment near the school, as they are still staying in a hotel.
Are you also going to learn Thai in on of the Thai schools for foreigners in Bangkok???

It appears have much more in common than our love for Jesus.
A passion for lost people including God’s heart for Thailand. We also share a love for Flamenco dancing, chocolate, delicious (aroy-dee!) food prepared beautifully, evangelism (loved your post on the Billy Graham Crusade and the Four Spiritual laws)
I have also spent time in Italy, walked the same streets and taken the same photos as you!
You are much more advanced in your language studies, I am jealous! How many languages have you learned 5, 6, 7? Eventually I will be studying language in Chiang Mai at the Cornerstone Language School, and have just begun working with a “language helper” in my home town (Northern California) I hope to hear from you again soon!

No...no... I just know very little for each language, except for Cantonese, English, Mandarin, I am quite fluent..
Thai..just some simple conversion.
For the other languages...I can just guess the meaning when I read the websites... I can't really speak much.
No reading comprehension yet for Thai...sooooooooooooooooooo difficult and small script... I'd like to print it out in Font size 20 and then try to pronounce them, 1 word per 15 mins....
